The worldwide market for electronic waste is growing at close to 10% a year with up to 50 million tonnes of e-waste generated annually, making it the fastest growing segment of the municipal solid waste stream. Although Europe is responsible for around 25% of the world's e-waste, less than 40% is collected and treated.
